If you have ever thought about starting a tech business but find it difficult to commit time and resources, consider starting it as a "Side Project".
You may have a brilliant idea about a new SaaS tool or a productive mobile app that can change its users' lives. You may also already have the required technical skills to bring it into existence but managing it with a full-time job and other responsibilities can be challenging.
You'll be surprised to know how many billion-dollar companies today started as just a mere side project at one time - Twitter, Github, WeWork, Udemy, Instagram, HubSpot, and Twitch are just a few names in the list of many.
Personally, the best way for me to start a side-project has been to create a new git repo and start pushing my code or buying that domain.
The second best way is to join the relevant community and start talking about your side projects. To support this endeavour in Developer Nation, we recently created a new category on our forums called "Show and Tell", where you can talk about the projects you're working on and find contributors and support in your journey. I look forward to seeing your projects up there and helping you in whatever way possible.
Talking about sharing projects, attending conferences is a great way to connect with like-minded people and talk about your projects, learnings and even failures.
DeveloperWeek CloudX conference 2023 is around the corner with online access on August 22-23, and we've brought FREE passes worth $100 for our community members.
